WATCH: LSU senior on 'Jeopardy!' flubs simple SEC questions
- Updated: February 3, 2016
Who is … not a real fan?
‘Jeopardy!’ just hosted its College Championship, and an LSU student was lobbed two softball questions about the Southeastern Conference, which the Tigers call home.
He got caught looking on both.
SHAQUILLE O’NEAL JOKES ABOUT BEING PAID FOR PLAYING AT LSU

An LSU student was lobbed two questions about the SEC conference and couldn’t answer either one.
Sure, the questions weren’t actually about LSU, but a kid representing the Tigers should at least have an inkling about schools on the very close perimeter of the Baton Rouge bubble.
He didn’t.

One of the answers involved a famous quote from legendary head coach Steve Spurrier.
“This ol’ ball coach at Florida and South Carolina said, ‘You know what FSU stands for… Free Shoes University,” was the first joke of a question, and there were crickets from the three contestants.
It’s one of Steve Spurrier’s most famous quotes, but that one was a $ 1,000 question (which is pretty pathetic in itself) and maybe we’ll give him a generous pass on it.
But the next miss was even more egregious.
“Breaking Herschel Walker’s SEC rushing record helped Derrick Henry of this university win the 2015 Heisman Trophy,” was the next one.
STEVE SPURRIER’S MOST MEMORABLE QUOTES

This was the exact question that left him speechless.
He might have had an excuse — albeit a lame one — if he were a freshman, because he could have been buried in his books from the months of September to January when the Crimson Tide running back was tearing up the SEC. But he’s a senior at LSU, according to The Advocate, so he had plenty of chances to hear about Henry.

Alabama’s Derrick Henry won the 2015 Heisman, but the LSU contestant couldn’t name the university Henry attended.
And he didn’t even have a guess. At least take a stab — you’ve got a one-in-14 shot, kid.
