T.J. Oshie and Sidney Crosby trade punches
- Updated: March 21, 2016
Sidney Crosby should stick to scoring goals.
The Pittsburgh Penguins star is third in the league in points, but throughout his career has earned a reputation of being a cry baby whose specialty is avoiding fights.
When he tried to hit Washington Capitals right winger T.J. Oshie with a few cheap shots during a line scuffle in Sunday’s game between both teams, Crosby got what was coming — some bare-knuckled punches courtesy of Oshie.

In the second period, Braden Holtby covered up a loose puck, and an all-out line brawl ensued when Penguins’ Patric Hornqvist got too close to the Capitals goalie.
At first Karl Alzner came to Holtby’s defense, but within moments everyone on the ice got involved.
When the referees began to break it up, Crosby gets testy and takes a swing at Oshie while a referee was blocking his view.
But when Oshie gets up and Crosby crumbles to the ice, along with a referee, he savors the opportunity and, with his gloves off, throws multiple punches at the Penguins star.
It looked like Crosby started the altercation, but he was not penalized. Instead, Oshie was given a two-minute minor for roughing.

The Penguins, in the midst of a six-game winning streak, are one of the hottest teams in the NHL.
They beat the Capitals, 6-2, to improve to 8-2-0 in their last 10 games.
