Ledley out of Wales qualifier
- Updated: September 5, 2015
EURO 2016 QUALIFYING: WALES V ISRAEL
- Venue: Cardiff City Stadium, Cardiff
- Date: Sunday, 6 September
- Kick-off: 17:00 BST
Coverage: Commentary on BBC Radio 5 live, BBC Radio Wales & BBC Radio Cymru (all available online) and live text commentary
Joe Ledley has been ruled out of Wales’ Euro 2016 qualifier with Israel on Sunday because of a hamstring injury.
The 28-year-old midfielder missed Thursday’s Group B victory over Cyprus in Nicosia after picking up the injury on the eve of the match.
Nottingham Forest’s David Vaughan has been called up to the squad as cover after being unavailable to travel to Cyprus for family reasons.
West Brom defender James Chester is expected to be passed fit.

A slight hamstring strain had forced the 26-year-old to sit out the match in Cyprus, but he will train with the rest of the squad at Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday.
“Whether he starts or not is another question but hopefully if he comes through training then he’ll definitely be in the squad,” said Wales manager Chris Coleman.
Will Wales make any changes?

Wales trained at Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday with no new injury concerns
Match-winner Gareth Bale was among those to admit the humidity in Cyprus took its toll during the hard-fought victory, which has put Wales within three points of reaching next year’s finals in France.
Coleman, though, said the players have recovered well and suggested he will keep faith with the same team that started against the Faroe Islands.
“The players are honest,” he said. “If they feel like they’ve got a problem then they won’t start.
“Physically we’ll look at our starting 11 and of course we’ll pick our strongest 11.
“But the guys who started out there in Cyprus did a great job and showed great discipline. They stuck to the challenge and the game plan.
“So we have got the option if we want to mix it up but we can also do that within the game. But physically the lads are OK.”
What Wales need to do
Victory in Cardiff on Sunday would secure Wales their place at Euro 2016 with two games to spare.
They are top of Group B with 17 points from seven games, and have not conceded a goal in the past four games.
Israel will arrive still in contention to qualify, though, having moved onto 12 points after a comfortable home win over the group’s bottom side Andorra on Thursday.
Wales have not reached the finals of a major tournament since the 1958 World Cup. A two-legged play-off win over Israel secured their place in Sweden on that occasion.
