Inspirational Devon Still gets cut by the Bengals: report
- Updated: September 6, 2015

Bengals defensive tackle Devon Still reportedly will not make Cincinnati’s final roster.
Devon Still entered this year’s Bengals training camp in improved shape, motivated by his daughter Leah’s cancer fight to be in better position to make the team’s 53-man roster and provide for his daughter.
Unfortunately for Still, he won’t get that chance in Cincinnati. The Bengals released Still on Saturday, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Still is no longer eligible for the practice squad.
The defensive lineman always knew being cut was a possibility, and it doesn’t appear anything will change his appreciation of the Bengals.

Devon Still and his daughter Leah are pictured earlier this year during a visit to New York.
“My heart is still with the Bengals,” Still told the Enquirer days before his release. “First of all, they drafted me and gave me the opportunity to be in the NFL. Second of all they did everything they could to help me save my daughter’s life and to raise awareness for pediatric cancer. There’s nothing that can break that bond, can break that relationship, because my daughter is more important than this game any day. They stepped up and helped me take care of my daughter. There’s nothing that can break that.”
Leah Still had been battling neuroblastoma but is now cancer-free. She had scans done right before her dad left for training camp at the end of July.

Devon Still says the support of the Bengals organization helped save Leah’s life.
The good news for the Still family is that because he was with the Bengals last season, the Stills have five years of NFL health insurance, even if he doesn’t sign with another team, as the Enquirer noted.
