Giant Jay Bromley accused of trying to rape woman at hotel

Police are investigating a claim that a Giants football player attempted to rape a woman he had just met on Instagram at a swanky Midtown hotel early Saturday.

Police sources said that Jay Bromley, a 23-year-old defensive tackle, picked the 26-year-old woman up at her home early Saturday after meeting her on Instagram.

He took her to the Hyatt Herald Square Hotel on W. 31st St. where they got a room.

Once in the room, the woman performed oral sex on Bromley but then didn’t want to go further, sources said.

“At that point, something took place that she didn’t want to take place,” a police source with knowledge of the investigation said.

The woman claimed that Bromley tried to rape her.

When the two parted ways she demanded the football star drive her home but he refused, the sources said.

She jumped on top of the hood of his car to stop him from leaving but he kept rolling down the street.

The woman fell off the hood a few moments later, injuring her knees and legs, police sources said.

The woman called police about 4 a.m. and was taken to Bellevue Hospital where a rape kit test is being performed, police sources said.

The NYPD’s Special Victims squad were investigating the allegations Saturday. Bromley has not been charged, officials said.

Bromley, a Queens native, was drafted to the Giants in 2014 and played in college at the University of Syracuse.

Bromley met the woman at the Hyatt Herald Square Hotel on W. 31st St. 

A Giants spokesman said the team was “aware of the situation.”

“We have notified the league office per the league’s protocol,” a Giants spokesman said in a statement. “We will have no further comment as we understand this is an ongoing investigation.”
