Fraser sneaks into WGC field
- Updated: March 16, 2016

Australian Marcus Fraser has nabbed the final spot into next week’s WGC Match Play Championship in Texas.
Courtesy of his recent European Tour win in Malaysia, Fraser worked his way into the all-important top 64 of the world rankings at the critical time.
And while success at this week’s Indian Open in Delhi will go a long way towards his other goal of competing in next month’s Masters, the Corowa ace is delighted to have won his way into the field to compete at the Austin Country Club next week.
The field will be finalised on Saturday morning (AEDT), but there is a strong chance that Henrik Stenson (clashing commitments) and Jim Furyk (wrist surgery) will miss from the top 64, allowing two more players into the field.
Fraser, 37, will join Jason Day, Adam Scott, Marc Leishman and Emirates Australian Open champion Matt Jones in the field for the year’s second WGC event after Scott won the first in Miami a fortnight ago.
