Craig Sager cleared by docs after latest leukemia fight: son
- Updated: October 8, 2015

Beloved TNT sideline reporter Craig Sager (r.) has been cleared by doctors, his son announced on Twitter.
The upcoming NBA season just got a lot more colorful with news of Craig Sager’s cancer victory.
The veteran TNT sideline reporter, famous for his flamboyantly over-the-top outfits, has been cleared by doctors after his latest battle with leukemia, his son announced on Twitter Wednesday.
“18 days early, on Day 82, Sr. has been cleared & is coming home for good WHAT A FIGHT! Thank you MD Anderson & everyone that believed in him,” Craig Sager II tweeted.
The elder Sager, 64, originally battled leukemia last year and made a brief return to broadcasting – even working the 2015 NBA All-Star Game – only for the disease to come back and force him to renew treatment.

Just last month, however, Sager told the Houston Chronicle he’d be on the sidelines for TNT on opening night, working the Oct. 27 Cleveland Cavaliers-Chicago Bulls game.
Wednesday’s announcement all but guaranteed he’ll make good on that promise.
