Bill Belichick was grumpy at the AFC coaches breakfast
- Updated: March 22, 2016
Just when you thought he couldn’t get grouchier.
Bill Belichick proved he isn’t a morning person (not that he’s an afternoon or evening person either) on Tuesday at the annual AFC coaches meeting, arriving a fashionably 20 minutes late and full of short answers for reporters.
As soon as he sat down, the New England Patriots coach — donning a fully-sleeved hoodie for a change — made himself comfortable by pushing multiple voice recorders out of his face.

Don’t invade Bill Belichick’s personal space.
After clearing his personal space, Belichick answered a slew of questions the way he always does, with just the right amount of saltiness.
“Bobby’s a great guy,” is how he responded when asked how his recent hang out with Kid Rock (birth name Robert James Ritchie) went.
Sticking to his stone-like personality, the coach was blunt about how many times he’s been asked if new tight end Martellus Bennett will fit in on the team.
“I’ve answered that question five times,” Belichick said.

And when asked about the player’s former contract issues with his former team, the coach said “Go ask the Bears.”
But what took the cake was when Belichick straight up had no words to a question.
He simply shrugged when asked how difficult it is to coach a perennial Super Bowl contender.
